Steps for Addressing Concerns with Case Management
Sometimes, talking to your case manager does not resolve your issue. When
this happens, you may need to talk to other people, like your case
manager’s supervisor or the company they work for. Below are some steps
you could take to resolve concerns with case management services.
1. Reach out to your case manager’s supervisor
After talking to your case manager and trying to work through an issue, the
next step would be to reach out to your case manager’s supervisor. If you
don’t know who this person is, or how to contact them, you could:
• Ask your case manager for their supervisor’s name and contact
information.
• Call the company your case manager works for and ask the person who
picks up the phone to direct you to the supervisor of your case
manager.
Once you reach the case manager’s supervisor, be prepared to share the
following information:
• What issue you have with your case manager,
• What steps you have taken to try to address the issue, and
• What you would like to see changed or improved.
You could communicate this information either through a conversation with
the supervisor, or put it into writing, if you wish.
2. Seek help from the organization your case manager works for
If you don’t get the help from your case manager’s supervisor, you should
next reach out to the organization your case manager works for. Most
organizations have formalized grievance or complaint processes, which will
require you to put your issue into writing. These processes ensure your issue
is looked at by someone objective within the organization.
3. Contact local administrative offices
If you continue to need assistance, the organization that employs your case
manager may have a local administrative office from which you can seek
assistance. On the next few pages, we list programs that provide case
management services in Florida and resources to contact local offices.
