Self-Advocacy Leadership
Many individuals with I/DD face
barriers to self-advocacy, including
limited opportunities for leadership
development and systemic challenges in
having their voices heard. Building
leadership capacity among individuals
with I/DD and their families is crucial to
ensuring meaningful participation in
decision-making processes.
The Council worked to expand selfadvocacy networks and provided
training programs to strengthen these
efforts.
