Access to Services
One of the biggest challenges individuals with I/DD and their families face is
finding reliable, clear, and accessible information about available services.
Many families struggle to navigate complex systems and often lack guidance
on what resources exist to help them at different life stages.
To address this issue, the Council made significant strides in researching and
developing a Statewide Access to Information System.
Key Achievements:
Developed a report identifying key
services needed, existing informationsharing methods, and ways to improve
accessibility.
Created a directory of community
resources, including locations, contact
information, and specializations,
covering 13 FCC areas.
Developed five journey maps and user
personas to guide families in making
informed decisions about services.
