Over the past 30 years the Florida Developmental
Disabilities Council, Inc. (FDDC) has been well known for
engaging Florida’s citizens living with intellectual and
developmental disabilities, their families and those who
serve them. Together we work hard to positively impact
legislation, policy and programs based on the needs
identified in our 5-year state plan.
During the 2024 fiscal year the FDDC made significant progress in
implementing planned initiatives within the third year of its 5-year plan
(October 2023-September 2024). The Council achieved numerous positive
outcomes through planned activities, outreach, communication and advocacy
efforts with the goal of empowering individuals with I/DD and their families
to live their most meaningful life in their community.
Several initiatives are innovative and require
public-private partnerships to conduct the
necessary research and solutions that would
benefit all Florida’s citizens with I/DD.
Please review the various initiatives and
what has been accomplished as we create
the road map for a better future for our
I/DD community through education,
advocacy and partnerships.
